Explicit Consent Text (Special-Category Health Data)
This text is separate and independent from the Privacy Policy & Information Notice (Turkish DPA Board Principle Decision No. 2026/347). Your consent covers only the special-category health data expressly listed below.
1. What Does This Consent Cover?
Under KVKK Article 6, health data is special-category personal data and may be processed only with your explicit consent. Your freely given consent is required to process the following:
- Your current weight and body measurements, and your target weight — to calculate your daily calorie/macro target and to track and show your progress (changes in weight/measurements). Required to use the calorie tracking feature.
- Pregnancy / breastfeeding status (if you declare it) — to adapt calorie/nutrition suggestions to this status for informational purposes. Optional — the app works even if you do not provide it.
- Diabetes status (if you declare it) — to adapt content and suggestions to this status for informational purposes. Optional — the app works even if you do not provide it.
This text also explains two further consents that are taken separately from your health data and separately from each other: meal photo analysis and adding a meal by voice (see section 4). Neither of these is health data within the meaning of KVKK Article 6; they are made subject to separate consent because both involve a transfer abroad. You can keep tracking calories manually without giving either of them.
CaloriPanda is a healthy-living assistant; it is not a medical device, a diagnosis/treatment tool, or a diet prescription. The information provided is for informational purposes and does not constitute medical advice.
2. Your Consent Is Free — It Is Not Tied to the Service
- You are not required to declare pregnancy/breastfeeding or diabetes. The Application's core calorie tracking works fully even if you do not provide this information.
- Giving consent for this health data is not a precondition for using any other feature, and there is no pressure on you to consent.
3. You Can Withdraw Your Consent at Any Time
You may withdraw the explicit consent you have given at any time, without giving a reason and free of charge: via the "Delete account" option in the app, or by writing to kvkk@caloripanda.com. Withdrawal takes effect going forward. When you withdraw your consent or delete your account, the relevant health data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days at the latest.
4. Meal Photos and Voice Input (Separate Consents)
The two features below are subject to separate consents, and each is asked the first time you use that feature. Giving one does not mean you have given the other; withdrawing one does not affect the other.
Meal photo analysis
- Photo analysis is performed through an AI-based image analysis provider whose servers are located abroad (USA); the processing therefore involves a transfer abroad.
- Your meal photo is processed only at the moment of recognition; it is not permanently stored in CaloriPanda's own systems.
- Even if you do not give this consent, you can continue tracking by entering your meals manually.
Adding a meal by voice
- Your audio is sent, solely in order to be converted into text and directly from your device, to a speech-to-text provider whose servers are located abroad (USA); the processing therefore involves a transfer abroad.
- Your audio never passes through CaloriPanda's own systems and is not stored there. Only the resulting text is sent to CaloriPanda; a meal entry is created from that text only after you confirm it.
- Even if you do not give this consent, you can continue tracking by entering your meals manually or from a photo.
5. The Approvals Presented to You in the App
Before you create your account you are shown two separate boxes. Both arrive unchecked (opt-in); ticking them is entirely your choice. The notice/terms statement and the explicit consent statement are separate boxes — neither stands in for the other.

There is no separate box for pregnancy/breastfeeding or diabetes. These declarations are optional and the consent arises from the declaration itself: if you leave the relevant question blank, that data is neither recorded nor processed. You can change or withdraw your declaration at any time under Profile › Preferences.
Photo and voice consents are not asked on this screen. Each is asked the first time you use that feature, in its own window and separately; giving one does not mean you have given the other, and withdrawing one does not affect the other.
- Meal photo analysis — asked the first time you add a meal from a photo, whether from the camera or your gallery. Its conditions are in section 4. If you decline, you can carry on entering your meals manually.
- Adding a meal by voice — asked the first time you use voice input. Its conditions are in section 4. If you decline, you can add your meals manually or from a photo.
